Almost Family Community Services provide a large selection of participant focused services to our local Darwin community.

Assistance with Self-Care Activities
We aid with Self-Care Activities in-home to assist our participants with their day-to-day personal care requirements. This support is tailored to the specific needs of the participant.

Activities of daily living
Almost Family Community Services can assist our participants with budgeting, meal planning and managing their day-to-day schedule. This may include attending courses and helping them to maintain their independence.

​Supported Independent Living
Almost Family Community Services provides Supported Independent Living services under the NDIS. We provide dedicated accommodation focused on supporting residents to live as independently as possible. Our experienced staff uses a person-centered approach to understand and help the participants plan their recovery journey, support in building their independence and reaching their goals.

Community access and social support
Our support workers can assist participants to get out and about in the community. From attending doctor’s appointments to going for a coffee or the movies, our staff will be there to help you get you to and from where you need to go with the support you need.

Welfare checks
Almost Family Community Services has staff available to relieve the pressures on family and friends by dropping in on our participants to make sure that they are ok.

Short Term Accommodation (Respite Care)
Almost Family Community Services offer optional short-term respite care, as we understand the importance of giving your carers and family members an opportunity to recharge.

Learning through positivity
Respite will be a positive opportunity for you to learn new skills from our support workers, as well as develop your independent living skills in a safe, supportive, and secure environment.

Development of life skills
Almost Family Community Services can help participants to develop practical living skills and independence to live as autonomously as possible.
Help with shopping, cooking, job hunting, health and well-being, social networks and friendships, money handling, traveling on public transport training, using technology and more. Support is based around individual needs and goals.

Assistance with household tasks
Almost Family Community Services has dedicated home care staff that will come and perform essential house cleaning activities that the participant is not able to undertake.
